The Matterhorn (4478 m) and the Dent Blanche (4357 m) are reflected in the perfectly smooth Riffelsee. Anyone who has ever travelled to Lake Riffelsee on the Gornergrat Railway will certainly have seen the Riffelhorn on the right (foothills on the left of the picture). This inconspicuous, rocky peak is used by many a mountain guide as a trial tour to test Matterhorn aspirants to see if they are ready for a climb.
