The Schreckhorn (4078 m, left) and the Lauteraarhorn (4042 m, right) are the northernmost 4000 metre peaks in Europe. A popular but demanding and long ridge tour (Lauteraargrat) leads from one summit to the other via the connecting ridge in the centre. Good eyes can make out our track in the snow on the south face of the Lauteraarhorn (mountain on the right).
