This extraordinary rock needle is the spectacular summit of a 3202 metre high rock giant, namely the Winterstock. The ascent requires climbing at a higher level of difficulty, especially if you are travelling with mountain boots and not climbing finches. We chose a climbing route that had been newly drilled in winter 2021 and whose developer we had met at the nearby Albert-Heim Hütte. Our ascent may have been the second ascent of this new route.
